Interessi di ricerca
My main area of research is in the sociology of memory. The topic of my doctoral dissertation was the performance of the past in contemporary Republican Italy, with a focus on political centres.
This deepens my general interest for the symbolism of politics, about which I have written articles on the dramaturgy of political factionalism, the media representation of death, and the framing of objects of memory.
A recent thread of my research regards the sociology of scandals, with a focus on the making and unmaking of the reputations of individuals in critical moments (eruptions of scandals, public denunciations, etc.)
I also have an interest in social theory, investigating topics like performance and ritual theory, the sociology of historical events, and the relationship between cultural sociology and literary theory.
