Interessi di ricerca |

My main area of research is in the sociology of memory. The topic of my doctoral dissertation was the performance of the past in contemporary Republican Italy, with a focus on political centres. This deepens my general interest for the symbolism of politics, about which I have written articles on the dramaturgy of political factionalism, the media representation of death, and the framing of objects of memory. A recent thread of my research regards the sociology of scandals, with a focus on the making and unmaking of the reputations of individuals in critical moments (eruptions of scandals, public denunciations, etc.) I also have an interest in social theory, investigating topics like performance and ritual theory, the sociology of historical events, and the relationship between cultural sociology and literary theory. |
