Interessi di ricerca

Research Interest:

My research activity revolves mostly around the characterisation of water surface dynamics in turbulent flows, including related phenomena (gas evasion fluxes) and engineering applications (non-contact hydraulic measurements, ultrasound scattering). 

 

Main Research Topics:

  • Manifestation of free-surface-turbulence-bed interactions in open-channel and partially filled pipe flows;
  • Gravity-capillary waves dynamics in sheared flows;
  • CO2 and CH4 evasion fluxes at the free surface of rivers;
  • Non-contact river monitoring techniques based on videos, radar Doppler, and sound scattering;
  • Reconstruction of water surface shape based on ultrasound scattering;
  • Instrumentation and experimental/numerical signal processing in hydraulics and fluid mechanics.
