Academic career and teaching activities |
|
Cultore della materia at the Institute of Philosophy of Law and Comparative Law in the Faculty of Law of the University of Padua (1985-1990). Winner of the competition for 1 position as Assistent Professor (tenure track) in Philosophy of Law announced by the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento (1990). Collaborator in the activities of the institutional course on Philosophy of Law, teacher of the evening support course for working students of the Faculty and at the Università Popolare of Bolzano. Tenure (1994). Teacher of a module of the course of Jurisprudence (1994). Lecturer in charge of the course of Jurisprudence (1995-1999). Winner of the abilitation for full professor in the competition announced by the University of Catania (1999). Appointed as extraordinary professor (tenure track) of Philosophy of Law by the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento (2000). Appointed full professor (tenure) in 2003. Currently full professor of Philosophy of Law in the basic course (BA+MA) and Theory and Technique of Legal Argumentation (MA), former co-teacher of the course of Logic Argumentation & Law (CEILS degree) at the Faculty of Law of Trent. In the post-graduate cycle, he has been a member of the teaching board of the Doctorate in Philosophy of Law and then of the Doctorate School in Jurisprudence of the University of Padua (1999-2006). Since 2007 member of the teaching board of the Doctorate in Comparative and European Legal Studies of the University of Trento. He has been a teacher at the School of Specialization in Theory and technique of judicial argumentation at the University of Padua (2002-2004). Since their foundation, he has been part of the teaching board of the Forensic Schools of the Bar Associations of Pordenone, Trento, Bolzano and Belluno, for the teaching module of Forensic Methodology. He has carried out teaching and seminar activities for the Italian bar association (CNF) and bar association of Italian penal lawyers (UICP). He has been a lecturer at the Master in Communication Analysis and Management (legal communication module) at the University of Trieste, Faculty of Education (2007-2012). He has been a teacher of the Master in "Legal Argumentation" of the Universities of Bari and Alicante (Spain) since its establishment (2014). Since 2007 he is Socrates-Erasmus (now Erasmus+) visiting professor at the Facultad de Derecho (ICADE) of the Pontificia Universidad Comillas in Madrid. He has held and still holds lectures and seminars at Italian and foreign PhD courses. |

Philosophy of law. Jurisprudence. Forms of legal reasoning: legal epistemology, legal methodology, theories of argumentation, dialogical philosophies in the legal and political fields. Education and training of professionals: forensic rhetoric (trial and adversarial) and defensive writings, education of trainers in bar and legal associations, legal ethics and deontology. |
