The thesis aims to give an account of the current debate on legal science and in particular (to ivestigate) whether it is still capable of formulating theories that are able to understand and describe the legal experience or whether it should limit itself to illustrating the results of Court's legitimacy.

The thesis should give an account of the meaning of the term truth in the current international philosophical debate and verity if and to what extent the results are applicable to legal experience and in particular to civil and criminal proceedings.

The thesis aims to give an account of the current debate on the “state of health” of judicial syllogism as a paradigm of legal reasoning, and to verify whether theories of argumentation based on dialectics and rhetoric have sanctioned its irreversible crisis.

The thesis should deal with the logical procedures by which the judge determines the question of fact in the civil trial; it should also verify on the basis of which reasoning it is illustrated in the grounds of the judgment.

The thesis should give an account of the ethical theories prevailing in the international debate and examine if and to what extent the results achieved can be applied to computer technologies and artificial intelligence.
