Research interests |
|
The research to date has mainly been in three overlapping areas. These are the legal texts from 400 to 900 CE, particularly Codex Theodosianus, Lex Romana Visigothorum, Lex Visigothorum; legal practice, particularly Ravenna Papyri, Formulae Andecavenses; Formulae Visigothicae; early Anglo-Saxon law. The interest in studies of papyri and manuscripts, developed during the years at the School of Archival practice, Palaeography and Diplomatics, has become soon interdisciplinary, involving Roman law and legal history, with particular attention to granting and management of public land. Additionally, in recent years the research's focus is on the influence of Late Roman culture on customs of Germanic tribes settled in formerly Western Roman Empire territory. |
