SHARPER NIGHT 2021 (European Researchers' Night)

The European Researchers' Night is back on Friday 24 September from 5pm to midnight

After a year with no events because of Covid-19, the European Researchers’ Night will be back in September 2021.

Here are this year's novelties:

  1. The event will take place partly in person and partly online.
  2. The European Researchers' Night is now part of SHARPER SHAring Researchers’ Passion for Engaging Responsiveness, an Italian network of 15 cities, including Trento, and involving 200 partners including universities, research centers, cultural organizations, businesses, local public institutions, and citizens' associations

THIS YEAR'S THEME

As in the previous editions, the event will keep the attention on Sustainable Development Goals, but the actual theme this year is the ability of researchers to respond to and manage crisis and to engage citizens in global challenges.

TYPES OF ACTIVITY

All in-person activities will take place at the MUSE Museum and in Le Albere district in Trento.

These are the types of activity that will be organized this year:

  1. Hands-on stands (17.30-24.00, in-person activity): each researcher or research group will be assigned a stand (table, chairs, electricity, WIFI) to display their work, methods and results to visitors in an interactive and engaging way. The stands will be located inside the museum (exhibition areas, rooms, halls, etc.).
  2. Virtual tours of laboratories (hours to be defined, online activity, live or recorded): researchers offer virtual tours of laboratories and clean rooms.
  3. Science cafés (hours to be defined, in-person and online activity): informal meetings in which the researchers talk about their work, take questions from the audience and engage in conversation.
  4. Living books (hours to be defined, in-person and online activity): scientists turn into "living books", and visitors into readers, ready to tell stories and answer questions about their area of expertise.

All activities must be carried out in Italian.

If you would like to participate, submit your application by 30 June 2021. Please specify the type of activity you are interested in and in which mode (in person or online). You can apply for more than one type of activity. Please submit one form for each activity.
