INFORMATION ON PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING

According to art. 13 of the EU Regulation  2016/679, GDPR - “General Data Protection Regulation”  the University of Trento provides the Data subject with the following information.

Data controller and Data Protection officer
The Data controller is University of Trento, via Calepina n. 14, 38122 Trento (Italy), email ateneo@pec.unitn.it; ateneo@unitn.it.

Purposes and legal basis for the processing
The processing of the provided personal data is performed by University of Trento staff in charge in the public interest, as stated by article 6, paragraph 1, point e); in particular for the purpose of managing the administrative registration and invitation procedure for the International Students.

How data are processed
Data are processed both in automated means and in other than by automated means (paper form) by University of Trento staff in charge, in relation to the task carried out and respecting the principles of lawfulness, fairness and transparency, purpose limitation (for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes), data minimization (in relation to the purposes for which they are processed) and in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the personal data.
No automated decision-making is done.

Mandatory data provision
The provision of the requested data is necessary to manage the administrative registration and invitation procedure for the International Students.and any refusal to provide the requested data will render it impossible for the University of Trento to proceed.

Recipients of the personal data and transfer to a third country
Personal data could be transferred to third parties if it is necessary to carry on the procedure and/or  if it is compulsorily stated by European or national law this for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest.
The collected data will not be transferred to third countries (Extra EU).

Data retention period
Personal data are processed for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected, until the conclusion of the procedure and according to requirements stated by law (e.g. current legislation on the retention and archiving of Administrative documents).

Rights of the data subjects
The data subject shall have the right to obtain from the controller the rights stated by the articles 15 et seq. of the GDPR, in particular: the access to personal data, the rectification and the integration, the restriction of processing or the right to object to processing of personal data. Within the meaning of the article 17, paragraph 3 point b), the right to erasure do not subsist when the processing of the data is mandatory to ensure the performance of tasks carried out in the public interest.
A specific request can be submitted to the Data protection officer at the above address for the exercise of the rights.
The data subject shall have right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority - the Italian Data Protection Authority.
