Academic career and teaching activities

Academic Career:

  • PhD student of the XXXV cycle at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Trento with a fellowship named "Mathematical models of epidemics".

Teaching Activities: (in inverse chronological order)

  • Theacher assistant for the course Mathematical Modeling/Mathematical Biology from September 2020 to February 2021. Joint course for the Master Degree in Mathematics, Master Degree in Data science and Master Degree in Quantitative and Computational Biology. (University of Trento).
Research interests

Mathematical models for epidemics, dynamical systems, complex networks.

Research work

2020

  • I’ve worked on a stochastic SIR epidemics on network, in collaboration with Dr. Mattia Sensi and Dr. Ozan Kahramanogullari. We built a scale-free network generated via Configuration Model (CM) algorithm and we obtained both theoretical and computational results about the probability of the extinction of a disease. Pre-print
  • I’ve been working on a SEIR model with vaccination controls for measles disease in collaboration with Prof. Xinzhi Liu (University of Waterloo, Canada) as a continuation of the research activity for my Master’s thesis. The model was built taking into account both the seasonality of the disease, using a time-varying transmission rate, and the connections between individuals, modeling the population as a heterogeneous network.
